War Quilts Exhibition – Manly Art Gallery from July 3

Make Sure that you have time in the 4 months to get to the Manly Art Gallery, West Esplanade Reserve, Manly. the exhibition opens July 3 through to November 22. Open 10am until 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Free Entry.

This very rare collection of ‘war quilts’, made by active soldiers and prisoners of war from pieces of disused uniforms, army blankets and other military fabrics, includes quilts dating from the Napoleonic Wars (1803-15), the Crimean War (1853-56) and World Wars One and Two. A publication by The Beagle Press accompanies the exhibition.

Make sure that you get to this great quilt exhibition this weekend. You can find all the details here. It is on in Kiama on Saturday and Sunday 30-31st May, opening at 10am each morning, $5 entry and a stunning raffle quilt. There is also an opening night event that is detailed on the website.  Limited parking at the Pavillion, you will need to park around the streets, alternatively its a two hour train trip from Sydney. Trains seem to leave hourly from Central station on weekends and with your Opal card $5.31 each way on Saturday, $2.50 capped maximum on Sunday . . . sounds like a good idea? The train station is only a 5 minute walk  from the Pavillion. Have a lovely day out and get in 4 hours of stitching as well!

New Members Welcome at Eastwood Patchwork Quilters

During Our Quilt Exhibition at Brush Farm, Saturday and Sunday May 1-3, prospective new members are welcome to take advantage of our special offer to join at the Exhibition. Eastwood Patchwork Quilters are offering the chance to join for $100 and have 14 months membership for the price of 12 months. We welcome new members and there are three different time slots to join. Our members are friendly and welcoming to quilters of all skill levels.

EPQ Quilt Exhibition open Saturday and Sunday 10-4

Stop by and see us today or tomorrow, May 2-3 at Brush Farm House and Corrective Services Academy. You can enter the driveway opposite the sportsgrounds and netball courts at the corner of Stewart St and Marsden Road, Eastwood. The house is looking great, all dressed up with members quilts and looking pretty glam! Inside you will find lots of beautiful quilts (115 in fact), and shopping with both members craft and four wonderful vendors. If you become a little weary, you can enjoy a Devonshire Tea/Coffee or some cakes and sandwiches made by the fantastic Eastwood cooks.bF2
